Point-of-lay Brahma hens are a large, dual-purpose breed that are gentle, hardy, and ready to start laying eggs, which are typically large and brown. They are a good choice for beginners and cold climates due to their calm temperament and cold-hardy features, like their dense down and pea comb. Point-of-lay hens will be vaccinated and mature enough to start producing eggs soon, laying about 150-200 eggs per year.
